Obituary for LOVATO

Christian Lovato, 81, of Albuquerque passed away on November 18, 2008, after a long illness. Born and raised in Yeso, NM, he served in both the Korean and Vietnam wars. After retiring from the U.S. Army Medical Corp in 1973, Christian worked as a baker and cook, and with his family operated several restaurants, including the Fu Yuang restaurant. He is survived by his loving wife, Kye. Christian had three brothers, Max Garcia, deceased, and his wife Selena, Selestino Lovato and his wife Mary, and Juan Lovato and his wife Betty. He is survived by four children, Barbara Bollinger and her husband Sam, Ken Lovato and his wife Denise, Mia Lasco and her husband Christopher, and Paul Lovato and his wife Angela; five grandchildren, Ned Hastings, Dawn Hastings, Christian Dougherty, Skyler Lasco, and Leyla Lovato; and eight great-grandchildren. Christian is also survived by his brothers and sisters in law, Steven and Hannah Yi, Kwang Yang, Hae Suk Pak, and Song Suk Yi. A Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 24, 2008 at the Wat Buddha Sothorn Temple at 145 Madison St. NE, followed by a gathering of family and friends at 2:00 p.m. at Aspen Funeral Alternatives, 1935 Juan Tabo NE, Albuquerque, which is handling the funeral arrangements, 505-323-9000.
