Arturo (Arthur) Griego Gonzales, age 86, passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2008. He was born to Julian and Veneranda Gonzales in Las Vegas, NM, on November 11, 1922. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Perfilia Marquez Gonzales; sons, Max and Art Gonzales and wife, Janie; daughters, Kathy Ortiz and husband, Edward, Bennie Holler, and Theresa (Judy) Smith and husband, Albert. Arturo is also survived by his brother, Alfonso Gonzales and wife, Dorothy; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Arturo will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. Arturo proudly served his country during WWII for the U.S. Army. On Sunday, November 23, 2008 visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m. with a Rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. at Salazar & Sons Mortuary, 400 3rd Street, SW. Mass will be celebrated on Monday, November 24, 2008, at 10:30 a.m., at Immaculate Conception Church, 224 7th St., NW. Internment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Arturo's grandchildren, Eddie Ortiz, Ramsey and Nathan Holler, Diego, Angela, Estevan, and Maximiliano Gonzales, and Justin and Jordan Smith.
