Benjamin C. Daniel, 59, passed away peacefully Thursday, November 13, 2008, at his home in the arms of his loving wife and best friend of 18 years, Karen. He is also survived by his stepchildren, Seana, Waylen, Laura, Cristy, Kathy (Wayne), Debbie (Chuck); sister, Linda (Dave); brother, Wayne; many family members; and a multitude of caring friends to whom his family are very grateful for their caring support during Ben's illness. Ben was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Frieda Daniel; and his sister, Doris Faye. Ben was born February 1, 1949 in Fairfield, WA and moved from Spokane, WA to Albuquerque where he worked as an air traffic controller for 33 years. He was an avid drag racer, mechanic, master machinist and woodworker; and also loved to travel. He was the recipient of the Bronze Star having proudly served his county in Vietnam. A special thanks to Seana, awesome neighbors, Dr. Jody Jordan, Doctors, nurses and staff at Hematology Oncology Associates and Vista Care Hospice for their professionalism and caring support assisting Ben with his valiant fight with cancer. Services will be held Friday, November 21, 2008, at 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel. Interment will follow at 3:00 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
