Eugene Chavez, 62, passed away November 16, 2008 while surrounded by his family. He was born in Canyon, NM, September 13, 1946. He resided in Canyon his entire life on his ranch. He was a truck driver and a welder for many years and he loved working on his ranch. He was proceeded in death by his parents Ricardo and Jenny Chavez; his brothers Alvin, Orlando, and Onie Chavez. Gene is survived by his daughter Trinie and her husband Adam and their son Julian. By his son Gino and his children Lorenzo, Audrey, and Onecimo. By Mary, the love of his life and the mother of his children who stayed by his side through it all. By his sisters Margie, Mary Jane, Helen, Veronica, Dolores; and his brothers Richard and Alvin. The Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2008 at 10 a.m., at the Clymers Baptist Church located at 8288 Hwy. 4 in Canyon, NM. Following the service, there will be a reception at the Canyon Community Center. Canyon will not be the same without him. He will be missed by many.
