Lisa Michelle Lucero, 43, after losing her courageous battle with cancer went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, November 15, 2008. Lisa was born and raised in Grants, NM and later moved to Albuquerque. Lisa's passion was cooking for those she loved. Her beautiful smile and strong spirit will be greatly missed by those who were blessed to have known her. She is preceded in death by her mother Pauline M. Lucero; and by her brother Jose Lucero, Jr. She is survived by daughter Ashley and lifetime companion of 27 years, Joseph Marquez and the Marquez family; her father Jose A. Lucero, Sr.; two sisters Tina Lucero and Teri Lucero-Pinela and husband Reynaldo; five nieces and nephews; David, Joseph, Angel, Enjoli and Adam; two great-nieces Jocelyn and Mya. She is also survived by her aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends whom she loved dearly. The family would like to thank those relatives and friends who visited, prayed and cared for her during her illness. A special thanks to Dr. Theresa Rutledge and the staff at U.N.M. Cancer Center for the wonderful care and support she received. Thanks to Zia Hospice who set up home care for Lisa so quickly. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2008, at the Carlisle Chapel of The Daniels Family Funeral Services, located at 3113 Carlisle NE, beginning at 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., with Rosary following at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, November 20, 2008, also at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, located at 5311 Phoenix Ave. NE. Pallbearers will be David Lucero, Joseph Lucero, Adam Pinela, Joshua Solano, Basilio Marrufo and Jesus Quinones.
