Obituary for FRYE

Russell E. Frye, 80, of Albuquerque, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 12, 2008. Russell was born October 1, 1928 in White Hall, IL to Andrew and Irene Frye. He joined the USAF in 1948 and traveled to various cities and countries. He came to KAFB from Seville, Spain in 1965 and after retirement made Albuquerque his home. Russell received a BS in Business Administration/Accounting from University of Albuquerque graduating Suma Cum Laude. After completing his education he returned to work with the Federal government and retired in 1994 after fulfilling an additional 20 years of service. He was a 32 Mason Scottish Rite, Corinth, MS, a member of National Association of Watch & Clock Collectors, Caledonia Lodge #280, Caledonia, MS, American Legion Post #49, Albuquerque, and Sundial Clock Club and Watches. Russell was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Lary Frye and sister Marilyn Hogan. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Gwyneth; daughter Rhonda Thompson and former husband, Michael Thompson; granddaughters, Renee Stewart and husband, Chris, Rachel Thompson; and the "apple of his eye" great-grandson, Landon Stewart; two sisters, Phyllis Garrett of Payson, AZ, Carol Frye of White Hall, IL; and two brothers, Gerald Frye of FL and Kim Frye of Jacksonville, IL; sisters-in-law, Billie Decker and husband, Don of Roswell, NM and Jenny Arrington and husband, Richard of Safford, AZ; and many nieces and nephews. The family will greet friends Sunday, November 16, 2008, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd., NE. Funeral Services will be Monday, November 17, 2008, 10:30 a.m. at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel. Interment with full military honors will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
