Obituary for CARLSEN

Paul N. Carlsen, age 68, of Rio Rancho, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving wife and family. Paul was born on September 19, 1940, in Pocatello, ID, to Alme and Cleo Carlsen. He completed his bachelors degree at Idaho State University, while raising his family. Paul joined American Stores in 1958 where he held various management positions, retiring in 2005 in Santa Fe. He was an avid golfer, fisherman, skier, and loved the outdoors. Paul especially enjoyed golfing with his brother, Dan and his best friend, Woody Clemmons. He also found great pleasure, golfing with his grandkids. He will be fondly remembered as the "Grand Poopa" of the family, and will be missed by all. He was known for his sense of humor, and his favorite phrase "How Undignified", both will be missed by his family and friends. Paul is survived by Claudia, his wife and best friend of 25 years; loving daughters, Jodi Sensenbach and husband Ron, Chris Potter and husband Mark, Amy Alder and husband David; step-daughter, Kim Fish and husband Bob; step-son, Tim Crampton and wife Judy; grandchildren, Chad and wife Debbie, Jason, Torey, Hailey, Andrew, Sam and Shelby; step-grandchildren, Lacie and Marina; brother, A. Dan Carlsen and wife Carolyn; sister, Luana; brother-in-law, Bob Elder and wife Liz. In accordance with Paul's wishes, cremation has taken place, and a private family service was held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Presbyterian Healthcare Foundation Cancer Center, P.O.
