Obituary for LOPEZ

Ethel Miller Lopez born July 18, 1921 in Alamito, NM and a lifelong resident of Bernalillo, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 9, 2008, surrounded by her loving family. Ethel is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Abel Lopez, her children: Walter Lopez and wife Molly; Elizabeth Martinez and husband J.P., and Yvonne Pulis and husband Cliff; seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild: one brother Bennie Miller, and one sister-in-law Lucy Lopez. Ethel was preceded in death by her parents R.H and Minnie Miller, infant daughter Mary Agnes Lopez, sister: Mary Sandoval and husband, Amarante; sister and brother-in-law Ida and Manuel Aragon, brother-in-law Justo Lopez, and sister-in-law Vangie Miller. Ethel was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. During her lifetime, Ethel was a teacher in Ponderosa, NM. She was the first Superintendent of Schools for Sandoval County, and she eventually retired from Kirtland Air Force Base as a Procurement Agent. Our Mother and Grandmother will forever be in our hearts. We graciously thank her for the love, guidance and direction that she bestowed upon us, and we will cherish her memory for the rest of our lives. Special thanks to all of her wonderful caregivers: Enchanted Hills Home Healthcare, Dr. Lovette, and to the Nurses and staff of Vista Care for their professionalism, compassion, and for the heartwarming care that they provided to our beloved mother during this difficult time. Viewing will be Wednesday 2:00-4:00 p.m. in the Reflection of Life Chapel (Washington and Cutler NE). A Rosary will be Wednesday 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Bernalillo. Life Celebration Mass will be Thursday 11:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Sorrows with Burial following at Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren: Kim Perez, Roberta Trujillo, Leanne Lopez, Troy Martinez, Pedro Abel Lopez, Anjelica Canales, Brianne Jewell, and special family member Pete Salazar. Honorary pallbearers will be her great-grandchildren: Andrew, Jade, Eric, Danielle, Krislyn, Erika, Tiffany, Jenna, Ricky, Aaron, Karli, Molly Rose, Matthais, Sophia, and great-great-grandson: Gabriel.
