John C. Hodges, 87, a resident of Albuquerque since 1972, passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2008. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Maureen Hodges; son, John E. Hodges; grandchildren, Teena Hodges Murray and John Hodges; and great-grandchildren, John, Jason, and Julie Murray. John was born in Ft. Worth, TX to Edward and Garnett Hodges. His family moved to Dalhart, TX, where he spent his young years. He finished High School and attended Texas Tech for two years before volunteering for the Army Air Corps. Mr. Hodges served in the Army Air Corps for five years, during World War II. He worked for J.C. Penney for 43 years, retiring in 1982. He worked from Kansas City, MO, to Winrock Shopping Center in Albuquerque. His community service included serving on the Board of Directors for All Faith's Receiving Home. He also served as President for Four Hills Country Club. John was an avid golfer. Cremation has taken place and Memorial Services will be held Wednesday, 1:00 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM.
