Elaine W. Blair, 89, a resident of Albuquerque since 1960 died in her sleep at home on Saturday, November 1, 2008. She was born on April 19, 1919 in McLaughlin, SD and was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Ella Marie Wayt. She is survived by her husband, Robert C. "Bob" Blair, Lt. Col. USAF (Ret) and son, Richard A. "Rick" Blair of Bayfield, CO. Elaine was prominent in many organizations. She was President of Kirtland Air Force Base Wives Club, President of Sanado Women's Club, and served as President of the City Council of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She was highly sought after for typing and editing of thesis and dissertations of UNM students. She was also a secretary to Norma Manson who was instrumental in getting the first cable television into Albuquerque and was secretary to the late Pete McDonald, Athletic Director of UNM. Cremation has taken place and per her request, no services will be held. Interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
