Leonard Chavez, 63, a lifelong resident of Willard, NM passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2008. He is survived by his loving wife Peggy Chavez; children son Leonard Chavez and his children Andrew and Luke, daughter Denise Gibbons and husband Bobby, and their children Portia, Kendra and Aiden, and five brothers, and one sister, Lewis Chavez and family, Avie Chavez and family, Lilly Chavez and family, David Chavez and family, Frankie Chavez and family, and Donald Chavez and family. Leonard worked for Torrance County Road Department for over 27 years and had been enjoying retirement. Leonard was a proud husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed watching his children play sports, traveling to car shows and visiting with friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A viewing will be held at Riverside Funeral Home on Thursday, November 6, 2008 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. A Rosary will be recited at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Willard, NM on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, November 7, 2008 at 10:30 a.m., also at Our Lady of Sorrows.
