Neil Arthur Calkins, 80, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Thursday, October 30, 2008. He is survived by his loving wife, Alma Calkins; children, Clifford and wife, Galina, Cheryl and husband, Steve Cordero, Michael and wife, Carol, Kathy and husband, Pat Cooney, Philip and wife, Stephanie, and Matt Borland and fiance, Tonya Brownfield; brothers, Jerry and Richard; sister, Marilyn Lovett; ten grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Bell; son, Kevin; and brother, Ralph. He served his country proudly in the United States Marine Corps. He was a hard working, devoted family man who enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and his grandchildren in his retirement years. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice in his name. Memorial Services will be held Monday, November 3, 2008, 1:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel.
