Obituary for MONTOYA

Joseph E. Montoya, age 56, a life-long resident of Casa Colorada, NM passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 26, 2008. Joseph proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War with the 3rd Recon Squadron-11th US Calvary. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfredo and Elisa (Baca) Montoya; two brothers, David and Ronald Montoya; brother-in-law, David Sandon and Joseph's companion, Cami Lee. Joseph is survived by his son, Timothy Montoya and wife, Amanda; two grandsons, Timothy Jr. and Isaac Montoya; brother, Gary Montoya and wife, Estefana; four sisters, Lorraine Sandon, Patricia Peralta and husband, Henry, Berlinda Sanchez and husband, Patrick and Mary Jane Salazar and husband, Antonio and two sisters-in-law, Carol Sarno and Jackie Aragon. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews that all looked up to him. All Services will be held at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, in Tome, beginning with a visitation on Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at 5:00 p.m. with at Rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m. A final visitation will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. with a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. with Father Jose Hernandez presiding. Interment will follow at Casa Colorada Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Timothy Montoya, Carlos Montoya, Jovon Montoya, Santiago Carrillo, Ambros Montoya, Edward Salazar, John Henry Peralta and Jered Sandon.
