Anthony G. (Tony) Hillerman, age 83, of Albuquerque, NM, passed away Sunday, October 26, 2008. He was born on May 27, 1925 in Sacred Heart, OK to August A. and Lucy Hillerman. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marie, of Albuquerque; his children, Anne Hillerman and her husband, Don Strel of Santa Fe, NM, Janet M. Grado and her husband, Rudy, Steve Hillerman, Daniel Hillerman, all of Albuquerque, Monica Atwell and her husband, Doug of San Antonio, TX, Tony Hillerman Jr. and wife, Lori of Sanger, TX; grandchildren, Brandon Hillerman Strel, Ian Grado, Matthew Grado, Sarah Grado, Daniel Hillerman, Candyce Hillerman, Dawn Atwell, Cassandra Atwell, Echo Atwell and Toni Atwell; sister, Margaret Mary Chambers of California; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Barney Hillerman. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, October 31, 2008, at 10:30 a.m., at Our Lady of the Annunciation, Claremont and Vermont Streets NE, with a Vigil Service being recited on Thursday, October 30, 2008, at 7:00 p.m., also at the church. Private interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM.
