Tomas (Tommy) P. Sanchez passed away Sunday, October 19, 2008 in Albuquerque at the age of 75. Tommy was an outdoorsman who loved to fish and hunt. He retired from the City of Albuquerque after 30 years of service. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Sara and Domacio Pohl, and his mother and father-in-law, Elisa and Ursenio Paz. Tommy is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Rosemary Sanchez; daughter, Tomasita Garcia; son, Edward Sanchez; grandchildren, Sara and Alejandro Garcia; stepbrother, Eddie Martinez; and family friend, Lorraine Hernandez. Services for Mr. Sanchez will be held on Monday, October 27, 2008 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. A Rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. followed by the Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m. Burial will take place at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Amadeo Pohl Jr., Jake Valencia Jr., Sara Garcia, Alejandro Garcia, Brian Valencia and Edward Sanchez.
