Obituary for FOSTER

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Sunday October 26, 2008

JOHN C. December 25, 1926 to October 17, 2008 Intelligent, loving, witty Father, Brother, Uncle, Grandparent, Mentor, WWII Veteran, Geophysicist and Friend who left us all indescribably heartbroken in the wake of his sudden departure. Loved deeply by his wonderful brother Mike; beautiful sister-in-law Dona; his blessed children Marjie, Bia, Linda, John and Jean; his gorgeous grandchildren Candace, James, Molly, Zach and Sylvie; and his precious great-grandchildren Savana and Kylie and many, many fortunate friends, classmates and fellow Naval shipmates too countless to mention. We miss you so much Daddy. You lived an incomparable life exploring for oil in Venezuela and in many other jungles of South America. We will miss your stories of the ocelots and the monkeys that visited your camps. We will miss hearing from you the loads of wild pranks you pulled on your fellow co-workers as you served Honeywell for many years in Puerto Rico. Your heart-breaking tales of combat will never be forgotten and your childhood memories always left us yearning for that simpler time. You had slain numerous dragons and endless trolls that hid beneath our beds. You kissed our booboos goodbye and wiped our fevered heads. Our lives will never-ever again be the same without you. We hope you finally get to meet Lana Turner, Betty Grable, and Ginger Rodgers and we thank you for your never-ending love, your permanent smile and your constant chuckling at your own silly jokes and find ourselves asking, "will the sun ever shine again?" XO
