Sam Paterniti 85, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2008 after a lengthly illness. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Cecelia in 2004. He is survived by five children; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was a WWII veteran, serving in the 8th army air corps in England. He graduated from Bowling Green State University, and worked as an accountant, retiring from Amrep in 1980 as comptroller. In the 1980's and 1990's he was a construction development consultant, developing several hotel and commercial projects throughout the state. He was the son of Italian immigrants, and believed in hard work, honesty, and dedication to his family. A Rosary will be at 7 p.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Rio Rancho on Monday, October 13, 2008. A Mass of Christian Burial will at 10:30 a.m., on Tuesday, October 14, 2008 . In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of New Mexico 4015 Carlisle N.E.
