Hilde J. Caserio, 81, passed away Sunday October 5, 2008 after developing severe respiratory distress. She joins her beloved husband, retired Lt. Colonel Charles Caserio, and her son Chuck in heavenly peace. She is survived by two cousins in Germany and many local friends. She will be interred at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe. Hilde was a Holocaust Survivor, Gold Star Mother, and member of the Retired Officers Wives Club. She was also very active in the local Catholic, Jewish, and German community organizations. Many loved and knew her as their "other Mother". She was an inspiration to all that knew her. Hilde was strong willed with a loving stubbornness. She had an undying faith in God, country and the military. She will be greatly missed by the many lives she touched. On Monday October 13, 2008 there will be a Viewing from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. and a Rosary from 7:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Daniels Funeral Home located at 7601 Wyoming NE. The Funeral Services will be Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at the Kirtland Air Force Base Chapel, at 3:00 p.m. If you wish to attend the services at the Kirtland AFB Chapel, you must call Shari at 505-453-3446 or provide an email to klb82@msn.com and leave your full name(s) to be added to the Air Force Base approved entry list. A sign-up list will also be available at the Viewing for those wishing to attend the funeral service. A Reception will follow in the Chapel Auxiliary Hall. Entry to Kirtland AFB must be through the Wyoming gate. If you are donating food for the reception, please make your delivery to the auxiliary hall before the service.
