Obituary for BENTON

William S. Benton (Bill), 76, born November 13, 1931. Lost his fight with cancer and passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2008 in his home in Albuquerque, with his family by his side. Bill was a native of Albuquerque and a man known to many. He is survived by his wife Anna Benton; brother, Robert Benton; daughters, Teresa Rhodes, Karen and her Husband Scott Allen, Cynthia Jackson; his only son, Richard Benton; step-sons, James Rivera, Louis Rivera and Gilbert Rivera; step daughter, Amy Wolgemuth; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Bill served in the Marine Corp. during the Korean War. He was an electrician and contractor and later owned his own business, "Benton Services." Bill was known as a handyman that would get the job done right. He will be missed by many friends and family members, among them Oscar Pahlevan. Bill was a member of the Zuni Church of Christ. A Memorial Service will be held there on Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 3:00 p.m., at the Zuni Church of Christ. Graveside Services will be held at Vista Verde Memorial Park at a later date.
