Helen E. Crosby, 94, of McAlester, OK passed away Monday, September 29, 2008 atMcAlester Regional Health Center. The family will receive visitors from 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2008. Graveside Services and IntermentatOak Hill Cemeteryunder direction of Bishop Funeral Service, will be Officiated by Rev. Dr. Tom Murray. Born February 15, 1914 in McAlester, OK to Allen Gray and Zoe Singhurst Crockett, Helen graduated from McAlester High School in the class of 1932 and married Edmond Franklin Crosby on January 6, 1934 in Muskogee, OK. They moved to the Pine Top Community south of McAlester, where they ranched for several years. She and her husband then began ownership in the restaurant business, having restaurants in Chicago, IL, Hemet, CA and Albuquerque, NM. It was in Albuquerque that they retired in 1990 and returned to McAlester, living here since that time and were members of the First Presbyterian Church. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-lawEdmond "Bing" and Vickie CrosbyofPark City, UT; two grandsons,David E. Crosby and his wife, ConnieofAlbuquerque, NM, Christopher Crosbyof McAlester, OK; three great-grandchildren,Cody Crosby, Clay Crosby and Cheyenne Crosby; a sisterLorena (Crockett) RazookofMcAlester, OK. She was preceded in death by her parents Allen and Zoe Crockett, Her Husband Edmond Crosby on June 25, 2005; a grandson Matthew Crosby; a sister Mary Olive Crockett; and a brother Max Allen Crockett.
