Carmen H., age 79, a life-long resident of Los Lentes, NM, lost her battle with cancer on Friday, September 26, 2008. She is now free of the pain and suffering brought on by this disease. Carmen was a member the San Clemente Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nick Carrasco, Sr.; parents, Pablo and Manuelita Hernandez; brothers, Salamon, Dan and Pete Hernandez; sisters, Delia Gurule and Virginia Hernandez; and brothers-in-law, Jose C. Gabaldon, Robert Gutierrez and Manuel Gurule. The family would like to give a special thank you to her caretakers and the staff from Presbyterian Hospice. Carmen is survived by her son, Nick Carrasco, Jr. and wife, Debrah; daughter and life-time companion, Patricia Carrasco; four grandchildren, Carlos Herrera, Anita Carrasco, Tomas Carrasco and wife, Erica and Martin Carrasco and wife, Sarah; one great-grandson, Damacio Carrasco; sisters, Cruz Gabaldon, Dora Gutierrez and Virginia Aragon and her husband, Tony; brother, Paul Hernandez and his wife, Flora and sisters-in-law, Amalia Hernandez and Josie Hernandez. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held at Romero Funeral Home Chapel, on Monday, September 29, at 7:00 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at the San Clemente Catholic Church, on Tuesday, September 30, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. Pallbearers will be Carlos Herrera, Tomas Carrasco, Martin Carrasco, George Hernandez, Felix Gurule and Jerry Gabaldon.
