Curtis DuWayne Hutchins, 48, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, died Wednesday, September 24, 2008, after a brief battle with cancer. Curtis was born on December 28, 1959, in Louisville, Kentucky, the last of his parents' five children. He was preceded in death by his father, James Charles Hutchins; his mother, Bessie Jean (Sallee) Hutchins; and all four of his sisters. Survivors include his close friends, Eddie Rael, John LaVelle, Josie Alarcon, Virginia Ulloa, Nicole Morlan, Dennis Roybal, and Bob Ferguson, all of Albuquerque; Alice Rivera and family of Los Lunas and Albuquerque; Margie Rivera and family of Albuquerque; Connie Chavez and family of Santa Fe; and numerous nephews and nieces. A private gathering of those who loved Curtis will take place for the final disposition of his cremated remains.
