Laura M. Smith, age 89 of Albuquerque, passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at a local hospital. She was born March 18, 1919 in Texarkana, TX to Luke P. and Anna J. Brandon. She married James F. Smith on May 25, 1939 in Mercedes, TX. Mrs. Smith along with her husband were founding member of Los Altos Christian Church in Albuquerque 49 years ago. A former member of the Northeast Optimist Club, she also was Life Master Bridge Player of the Duke City Bridge Club for over 34 years. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, James, of Albuquerque; her daughter, Suzanne Eisold of Annandale, VA; her son, Chuck Smith and his wife, Jane of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; grandchildren, Dean Eisold and his wife, Leila, Doug Eisold, Megan Smith and Emily Smith; great-grandchildren, Brandon and Joey Eisold. She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. Memorial Services will be held Saturday, September 20, 2008, at 3:00 p.m., at Los Altos Christian Church, 11900 Haines NE. Ennichement will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Memorial Fund of Los Altos Christian Church.
