Gismonda "Gisele" Rivera, 86, a resident of Bear Canyon Estates passed away Thursday, August 28, 2008. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Pedro "Pete" Rivera, Jr.; Sisters-in-law, Ann Ahlness and Evangeline Kosinski of Albuquerque and Agnes Rivera of Las Vegas, NM; Brothers-in-law, Howard Ahlness of Albuqueruqe, NM and Richard Janzer of Apple Valley, CA; and many nieces and nephews. Gismonda was born in Tunis, Tunisia on May 4, 1922 to Ettienne and Josephine Etore. She met Pedro Rivera in North Africa where he was serving in the Army Air Corp and they were married on June 24, 1946 in Las Vegas, NM by a French priest. Gisele was a loving wife, sister and aunt and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Prayer Service will be held at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, Tuesday, September 2, 2008, 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
