Obituary for MUSGRAVE

Catharine M. Musgrave, 85, resident of Albuquerque, passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2008. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Homer Musgrave; son, John Musgrave and wife, Barbara; daughter, Caroline McClurg and husband, Jon; grandchildren, Laura, Karen, Maria, Audrey and Michael; and sister, Eleanor M. Dean. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Suzanne Louise. Kate was born and married in Philadelphia where she trained to be a nurse at Episcopal Hospital. As part of government service, she served at the Lakota Sioux Reservation in Pine Ridge, SD. Kate and Homer moved to Albuquerque in 1950. Since then, she has been very involved as a volunteer in her community, especially with the Episcopal Cathedral of St. John and the Albuquerque Museum, which recognized her in 2000-2001 as Volunteer of the Year. She also served at Planned Parenthood and on The Symphony Board. Kate was a very caring person with strong intellectual curiosity. Travel and gardening were among her many interests. Kate had a wonderful sense of humor and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Services will be held Friday, August 29, 2008, 10:00 a.m. at the Episcopal Cathedral of St. John, 318 Silver SW.
