Mike Sanchez, 88, a resident of Albuquerque since 1938, passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2008. He is survived by his children, Sam Sanchez and wife, Bernice, Gilbert Sanchez, Joe B. Sanchez and wife, Angela, all of Albuquerque, JoAnn Baca and husband, Robert of Lawton, OK; 17 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Tillie Archibeque and Sadie Chavez, both of Albuquerque. He was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes; and a son, Richard Sanchez. Mike was a Veteran of WWII, having served his country in the US Army. He received two purple hearts for his duty. Mike was a lifetime member of St. Anne's Catholic Church. Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, August 19, 2008 at 7:00 p.m., at St. Anne's Catholic Church, 1400 Arenal SW. Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at 9:00 a.m., at St. Anne's Catholic Church.
