Obituary for SEARS WILSON

Margaret Lucille Sears Wilson, 90, passed away on August 8, 2008, at her residence in Albuquerque, NM after a long illness. Margaret was born on December 4, 1917, in Dexter, NM to Eva Edwin (Ed) Sears and Beatrice (Bea) Matkin Sears. She married Lee Edwin (Tom) Wilson on September 19, 1936, in Alamogordo and lived in Roswell most of her life. She moved to Albuquerque in 1998 because of poor health. She is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years on July 3, 1997; by her parents; and two sisters, Frances Hoffman and Nadine Strawn. She is survived by her son, Thomas Edwin Wilson and his wife, Stephany, of Placitas, NM; and her granddaughter, Lauren Atkinson; and great-grandson, Azure Atkinson, of Albuquerque, NM. Margaret lived in Roswell most of her life and was a member of the First Baptist Church and Beta Sigma Phi sorority. She was a bookkeeper for Sears Roebuck & Co., in Roswell and for the family service station business for many years. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. The family is grateful for care given to her by staff of Albuquerque Preferred Assisted Living Services, Odyssey Hospice, the Grand Court, and the UNM Health Sciences Center. Cremation has taken place, and Memorial Services are pending in Roswell. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her memory to, the donor's preferred charity or to the Alzheimer's Association, New Mexico Chapter, 9500 Montgomery, NE, Suite 209, Albuquerque, NM 87111-2579.
