Obituary for MARTINEZ

Adolph Levi Martinez, 84, a resident of Albuquerque since 1950, went to be with the Lord Friday, August 15, 2008. He is survived by his children Robert Martinez and wife Arleen of Canton, MD, Rick Lee Martinez, Tony Levi Martinez and wife Valerie, Mary Ann Nava, Linda Martinez and fiance Donald Hare, Mary Alice Cordova and fiance Jose Soltero, Cruz Adolph Martinez and wife Jane, and Patrick Lee Martinez all of Albuquerque; 24 grandchildren ; 42 great-grandchildren ; five great-great-grandchildren ; and sister Emma Hines and husband Ralph of Walden CO. He is preceeded in death by his wife Carlota Martinez. Adolph grew up in Cimarron, NM, where he met and married Carlota Cortez before moving to Albuquerque. He worked at Midas Mufflers for over twenty years. Mr. Martinez served in the US Army during World War II and was awarded five Battle Stars. He was involved with the Battle of the Bulge and the Invasion of Normandy among others. He also served during the Korean War. Mr. Martinez was a member of the American Legion, Post 99. He enjoyed spending time with his fellow veterans at the VA Hospital. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel.
