Andelecia Martinez, 83, a resident of Las Vegas, NM since 1960 passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at Presbyterian Kaseman Hospital in Albuquerque following an extended illness. She was born in Buena Vista, NM on March 17, 1925 to the late Jose Leon and Santitos Mares. She was united in marriage in Sapello, NM on March 10, 1948 to Tony Martinez. She loved and lived to serve the Lord. She enjoyed cooking, joking with her grandchildren and especially spending time with family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tony Martinez; granddaughter, Janice Gonzales; brothers, Pete Mares, Pablo Mares, Esequiel Mares, Epimenio Mares, Lupe Mares, Anastacio (Mike) Mares, and Eloy Mares; and sisters, Margarita Grine and Grabrelita Pino. She is survived by her daughters, Flora Shallenberger, Evangeline Gonzales and husband, Paul, Doloritas Martinez-Maes and husband, Robert, Mary Ida Sandoval and husband, Alfonso of Phoenix, AZ; sons, Anthony Martinez and wife, Michelle, and Andrew J. Martinez and wife, Jana, all of Colorado Springs, CO; 13 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren; brothers, Abenicio Mares and MaryAnn of Longmont, CO, Gilbert Mares and wife, Juanita of Springer; sisters, Matilde Trujillo of Longmont, CO, Carmen Trujillo and husband, Andres of Denver, CO and Alfonsa Apodaca and Ben of Maxwell, NM; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Friends may visit French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, Thursday, July 24, 2008 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Prayer Services will be conducted at Victory Life Church in Las Vegas, NM, Friday, July 25, 2008, at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at Victory Life Church, Saturday, July 26, 2008, at 10:00 a.m., with interment to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Las Vegas, NM. Serving as pallbearers will be John Shallenberger, Christopher Gonzales, TJ Heinl, Aaron Maes, Joshua Martinez, Jacob Martinez, Caleb Martinez, Lyle Sandoval and Leon Sandoval.
