Philip L. "Phil" Sanchez, age 54, set sail into the sunset from Arabi, LA May 26, 2008. An avid rock hound and a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY, Phil worked for many years at Caesars Palace. He retired in the spring of 2007, and moved from Las Vegas to the the New Orleans area in order to take on a new challenge. Phil is predeceased by his parents, Pat and Jane Sanchez. He is survived by his sisters, Sandra, Anne and husband Fred, and Elena, all from Albuquerque. He is also survived by his nephew, Travers and fiancee, Jayce of Telluride, CO, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends from around the country. A Memorial Mass for Phil will be held Friday, July 25, 2008, 5:00 p.m., at Prince of Peace Catholic Community, 12500 Carmel Ave. N.E.. Interment will be at Rosario Cemetary in Santa Fe on July 26, 2008, 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the UNM Foundation for the Maurice L.
