Guri Whitley Byrne, born November 29, 1924 in Rochester, NY to William and Claire Skarre, passed away on July 21, 2008. She was preceded in death by her husband, John P. Byrne; and grandson, Justin Byrne. She is survived by her six children, Patricia Leischner, James Byrne and wife Kim, John Byrne, Guri Glass and husband Wayne, Tim Byrne and wife Geri, Bridget Turman and husband Jerry; grandchildren Jeffrey, Drew, Reeve, Barbara Jean, Jerry Jr., Sage, Matthew, and Michael; Great-granddaughters Riley, Zoey. Guri was a Foster Parent for 17 infants that were being adopted. She will be remembered for her kindness and devotion to her family. She enjoyed arts and crafts and participating in many arts and crafts shows as "Granny Goose". Guri always enjoyed entertaining and her home was always open to those who stopped by. She is truly loved and will be missed by countless friends, neighbors, and acquaintances.
