Obituary for COLLARD

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Sunday July 13, 2008

Jane McLeod Collard, 77, passed into eternal life on the morning of July 4, 2008. The day that our nation celebrates freedom is the day that our mom was freed from her tired worn earthly body to live forever with the Lord. She loved her family intensely and unconditionally, she loved sports (especially football by the Dallas Cowboys), she loved holidays, and made plans for Christmas starting in July, and she loved flowers. Jane had a positive attitude about life, she didn't complain because as she said "It doesn't do any good" and taught her family to have an attitude of gratitude. She is survived by a brother, Jim McLeod and wife Shirley of Nashville, TN; her children, Cathy Bell and husband Paul of Albuquerque, Patricia Cole and her husband Bill of Glendale, AZ, Mike Collard of Albuquerque, and Paul Collard and wife DeAnna of Goldsboro, NC; her grandchildren, Juli Jacobs and husband Mike, Lisa Gomez and husband Joe, Amber Murphy and husband Josh, Ryan Bell, Paul Donato, Joe Collard, Mary Collard, Chrystal Cox and husband Brian, Sara Collard and Robert Collard. She has 11 great-grandchildren. The family gives our sincere thanks to the entire staff of the Rehabilitation Center of Albuquerque for making the last six months wonderful. They not only took extraordinary care of our mother, they cared about "Miss Jane." A Memorial Service to celebrate the life of Jane Collard will be held on Friday, July 18, 2008 at 2:00 p.m., at First Family Church, 4701 Wyoming NE, Albuquerque, NM
