Raymond C. Gallegos, 73, a resident of Albuquerque passed away July 8, 2008. Mr. Gallegos is survived by his wife of 50 years, Nellie Gallegos; four children, Steve Gallegos, Bruce Gallegos and wife, Shannon, Debra Gallegos, Jude Gallegos; his daughters-in-law, Connie Montoya and Brenda Gallegos; his sisters, Mary Montano and Emma Ferris; his brother, Ruben Gallegos; 12 grandchildren, Juanita, Jessica, Adam, Carlos, Nicholas, J.J., Brianna, Mariah, Rodni-Lauren, Steven, Anastasia and Jacqueline; two great-grandchildren, Jose and Araceli; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Mr. Gallegos was preceded in death by his son, Rodney Gallegos; his brother, Joe Gallegos; and his two sisters, Hazel Barreras and Edna Abeyta. Raymond and Nellie were active in their church ministries and the Adoration Chapel. Ray was also an AVID baseball player and fan, and he was also a player in the Senior Baseball League for the past eight years. Visitation will be Friday evening, July 11, 2008 at Church of the Ascension from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by the Legion of Mary. Final visitation will be Saturday at the Church from 9:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Father Edmund Savilla, presider. Interment to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Carlos Gallegos, J.J. Gallegos, Randy Abeyta, Isaac Abeyta, Jeff Barreras and Brian Abeyta. Honorary pallbearers will be Steven Gallegos Jr., Adam Antillon, Nicholas Antillon, Red Morrison, Jose Ortiz and Aaron Gonzales.
