Helen E. Saunders, passed away July 2, 2008. She was born January 11, 1912 in Galesburg, IL, and was living in New Mexico since the early 1950's. She was the first librarian at Valley High School, taught at UNM, and was a member of the New Mexico Library Association. She volunteered at St. Martins Hospitality Center and other charities. Her husband, the Reverend Paul Saunders, preceded her in death in 1990. Helen is survived by her son, Keith; and her cat, Diana.
