Obituary for SANCHEZ

JOE S. SANCHEZ 1926-2008 Joe S. Sanchez, age 81, born in 1926 to Jose Sanchez and Adela (Stephens) Sanchez. Joe departed this life to join his beloved granddaughter, Kierstin Marie Sanchez, into eternal life on Wednesday, July 2, 2008. He also joined his parents, Jose and Adela Sanchez; parents-in-law, M.C. and Angelina Baca; three sisters, Triny Garcia, Senaida Sanchez and Molly Gabaldon; and two brothers, Al Stephens and Dennis Sanchez. Joe was active in real estate and owned the Southwest Land Investment Corporation, Valley Real Estate Company, San Miguel Motel, and Brooks Apartments. He served in the United States Army during World War II, and he worked several years for the Railway in Belen. He was a life long member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus and he was very devoted to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Joe is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Mary Jane Sanchez; three sons, Albert Sanchez, Steve Sanchez, James Sanchez, and wife, Melissa and her parents, Adam B. and Veronica Baca, daughter, Kristi; five grandchildren, Jessica Baca and husband, John, Patrick and Krystle Carrillo, Jeremy and Joseph Sanchez; two great-grandchildren, Isaiah and Santiago Baca and Marcus Rimorin, brother, Gilbert Sanchez and wife, Ruth; two sisters, Eva Moya and Milly Bobinsky and husband, Jack; brothers-in-law, Ruben Baca and wife, Barbara, Leroy Baca and wife, Sylvia and Mac Baca and wife, Anita and sisters-in-law, Elsie Sachs, Margaret Baca and husband, Ned and Tina Baca. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. All Services will be held at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church, beginning with a Viewing on Saturday, July 5, 2008, at 12:00 p.m., with a Rosary to be recited at 12:30 p.m. and a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 1:00 p.m., with Father Stephen Schultz presiding. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Mac, Rodney, Patrick and John Baca, Patrick Carrillo, and Jeremy and Joseph Sanchez. Honorary pallbearers will be Jessica Baca and Krystle Carrillo. The family request donations be made to Saint Mary's School, 101 N. 10th Street, Belen, NM, 87002 in memory of Joe Sanchez.
