Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Tuesday June 24, 2008

TED 1936 - 2008 Ted Lehman, age 71, a resident of Belen, passed away suddenly on June 19, 2008, after a day of fishing on the Chama River. Ted was born in Bridger, MT on November 17, 1936 to Henry and Dorothea Lehman. He graduated from New Mexico State University, and worked summers as a ranger in Yellowstone National Park. In 1965, he met Virginia Moore at a Young Republicans meeting in Tulsa, OK, and married her six weeks later. Ted worked all of his life as a physicist. He was well-respected and known in the scientific community. While he loved his work, he also loved fishing (rivers only), horse racing, and playing cards with his kids and poker with the boys. One of the boys and oldest friends, Dick Blattman, was fishing with him when he suffered and died from an aortic aneurysm. Ted's children and grandchildren brought him his greatest happiness. He was a father whose children knew everyday how much he loved them. Ted leaves behind his wife of 42 years, Virginia; his son and best friend, Matt Lehman and wife, Jamie; daughter, Robyn Robinson and husband, Jared and daughters, Kelly Lehman and Melissa Lehman. He is also survived by his five beloved grandchildren, Wyatt, Gunner, Rowdy and Raelynn Robinson; and his other set of eyes and ears, Allison Scott Garcia; brother, Carl Lehman and wife, Hilda; and his favorite mother-in-law, Mary Jane Moore. A Celebration of Ted's life will be held at the family home in Belen on Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at 9:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be in Ted's name to the Immanuel Lutheran School Fund, 300 Gold, SE, Albuquerque, NM. Ted/Dad/Bubba, you never stopped taking care of us, now is the time to rest and let our Lord take care of you. We will never forget you or what you taught us.
