Obituary for RUVOLO

Anthony G. "Tony" Ruvolo, 83, passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2008. Tony was born in Trinidad, CO. November 17, 1924 to Joe and Angie Ruvolo. The family moved to Albuquerque in 1929. Tony worked in the food business all his life as a salesman, sales manager, and self-employed food broker. Working with and for major food companies like Borden's, Kraft and Boyles Famous Corned Beef, Tony was well known across all of NM and much of the western US. Tony was also involved in the community and was a 42 year member of Albuquerque Elks Lodge #461 where he held many positions including the leadership position of Exalted Ruler. Tony was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Frank Ruvolo; two wives, Shirley and Dorothy; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Tony is survived by a large family, wife, Sue; children, Sher Gurley, Rick Ruvolo and wife Vicki, Lisa Lucero and husband Ray, and Maria Sigmon and husband Zack, Phyllis Blanton and husband Kenneth, Cynthia Faulkner, Susie Madrid and husband Jimmie and Linda Watson. Tony had 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by nephews Frank Ruvolo Jr. and wife Carol, Roger Ruvolo and wife Dianne; and niece Diana Duke. Also surviving are aunt, Bertha Ruvolo; uncle, Frank Bandoni; and many cousins. He will be greatly missed by all. Visitation is at Daniels Family Funeral Services, 1100 Coal Ave. SE. on Sunday June 22, from 4-6 p.m. Rosary will follow at 6 p.m. Services will be Monday, June 23 at 10 a.m., at Immaculate Conception Church, with Burial at Mount Calvary Cemetery following. Pallbearers will be Doni Gurley, Ray Lucero II, Zack Sigmon, Cameron Madrid, Frank Ruvolo Jr., and Jimmie Madrid. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ray Lucero, Lance Madrid, and Clay Jobe.
