Leroy (Shorty) Lopez, born on March 27, 1951, passed away on Saturday, June 7, 2008 at the age of 57. He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Estella Lopez; brothers, Charlie and Fred Jr.; sister, Perla Luna; and brother-in-law Richard Ortiz Sr. Leroy is survived by his loving and caring long time companion, Maria Chavarria; Robert Chavarria and wife Micki; four grandchildren, Jacob, Andrew, Julian, and Francine; one brother, Sammy Lopez; four sisters, Corrine Martinez and husband Floyd, Ramona McAfee and husband James, Wanda Lopez, and Imelda Ortiz; brother-in-law, Henry Luna; his Godchildren, Richard Ortiz Jr., Aracely Maldonado, and Alezandria Riva; and numerous other family members and friends. Leroy will be greatly missed by all. A Rosary will be recited Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday at 9:00 a.m. also at the Church. Urn Bearers will be Richard Ortiz, Jr., Frankie Lopez, Larry Ortiz, Joseluis Carabajal, Arthur Archibeque, Greg Lucero, Chris Perez, and Neto Perez.
