Obituary for FRANK

Austin C. Frank, 94, died Saturday, May 24, 2008. He was born in Albuquerque August 2, 1913. Frank grew up in Albuquerque, attended public schools here and the University of New Mexico where in 1936, he received a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering. During World War II, he was commissioned in the US Navy Civil Engineer Corps and served with the Construction Battalion Detachments 1050 and 1051 in the southwest Pacific. He was a longtime civil service employee of the US Army Corps of Engineers, retiring in 1972. Frank was a registered Professional Engineer by the state of New Mexico and a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church. He is survived by a daughter, Janet Frank Olsen and husband, Charles of Tustin, CA; a son, Lawrence L. Frank and wife, Cynthia of Albuquerque; three grandchildren, Annalise Olsen, Christina Frank and Austin Robert Frank; and a nephew, William Frank of State College, PA. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Frank; and two brothers, Ralph Frank and Claire Frank. Services will be held Tuesday, June 3, 2008, 10:00 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Park, Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum Chapel, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Interment of cremated remains will take place at Sunset Memorial Park.
