Merida Marie Red Star Miller Pretty Shawl - (Iishdapiia ittaache) Our beloved mother, daughter, granddaughter, sister, cousin and friend died tragically on Wednesday, May 14, 2008. She was born November 26, 1978 in Santa Fe, NM, the daughter of Kevin Red Star and Deborah Kline. She was a member of the Piegan Clan and a child of the Piegan Clan. Merida grew up in Santa Fe surrounded by various cultures. This is where she began her involvement in art, music, dancing, and drama. At the age of 12, Merida and her sister, Sunny Sky moved to Montana to reside with their father. Merida began working in her father's gallery at the age of 18 and by 25 she was his agent and Gallery Director. She traveled extensively to art shows with her father and became a prominent art dealer. She was multi-talented and excelled at all she did. Merida's personality and lust for life arrived in a room minutes ahead of her. She made her presence known, be it the clack of her boots, the jingle of her jewelry or her infectious laugh. You knew when Merida was around. Merida was a force to be reckoned with. To know Merida was to love her. This world has lost a spectacular woman and the sadness of her passing will remain in us all forever. No one will ever fill her boots. Merida was so bright, beautiful and bold and had a heart of gold with a very soft, sensitive center. We all forgot that she was vulnerable and we depended on her enormous strength and generosity. We will never forget you, our "squitch". "Momma Merida", we will love you forever. The Lord will keep you in his arms for us. We will miss her illuminating smile, undeniable presence, her quirky loving personality and soothing laughter. Her smile was her legacy that will remain forever in our hearts. We don't know what we will do without her...
