Erlinda Lucero, 79, of Albuquerque, passed away May 10, 2008. She was born March 19, 1929 in Albuquerque to the late Leopoldo and Maria Chavez. She married Joe Nabor Lucero on April 9, 1949. He preceded her in death on October 12, 2007. Erlinda is also preceded in death by a son, Perfilio B. Lucero in 2002; a sister, Flora Chavez and a brother, Arthur Chavez; Survivors include her children, Joanna Vigil, Michael Lucero, Philip Lucero and his wife Eileen, Linda Caskey and her husband Bill; Patrick Lucero; 11 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Fred Chavez and Benny Chavez; two sisters, Libby Griego and Sally Barillas and numerous other relatives and friends. Erlinda was very proud, generous and hard-working. She was always selfless. She was devoted to her children and touched the lives of everyone who knew her. The Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will be on Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE at 7:00 pm. The Mass of the Resurrection will be on Thursday, May 15, 2008 at the Shrine of St. Bernadette, 11401 Indian School NE at 9:00 am with Father Norbert Choong celebrating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Pallbearers will be Michael Kyle Lucero, Alan Lucero, Jacob Lucero, Robert Lucero, Steve Roberson, Patrick Garcia. Honorary pallbearer will be Edward Herrera. Friends may visit at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel on Wednesday, May 14, 2008 from 6:00 pm until the time of Rosary.
