Ida E. Valdez joined her Heavenly Father on April 18, 2008. Ida Valdez, born on November 8, 1918 was a resident of Cuba, NM for 89 years. Ida recently resided in Albuquerque, NM at her "home" away from "home", Casa de Rosa. Ida deeply loved all the staff at Casa de Rosa and was shown such extraordinary care and compassion. Ida is preceded in death by her parents, Augustine Aaron Eichwald and Isabel, her spouse Francis P. Valdez, her siblings Lucilla, Emma, Carmelita, Augustine, Alex and Max. Ida is survived by her children Robert and Lucille Valdez of Cuba, NM Elizabeth and George Foster of Las Vegas, Nevada. She is also survived by her Grandchildren Robert Valdez, Carolyn and Jody Montoya, Isabel Valdez, Al and Erika Foster and Sandra Foster. She is also survived by six Great Grandchildren. The Valdez family would like to thank three very special people for their friendship and kindness to Grandma. Thank you Darlene Archuleta, Esther Martinez, and Senora Soto. "Gram" will be remembered for her wit, charm and hospitality. She is now breathing new life in a restored body of health, happiness and mobility. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 26 at 1:00 at 2nd Presbyterian Church 812 Edith Blvd NE in Albuquerque NM.
