Obituary for GALBRETH

Wilmer Edward, age 79, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Friday, April 18, 2008, after a prolonged illness. He is survived by his devoted wife of 60 years, Peggy; children, Linda Owens and husband, Kent, Dr. Bill Galbreth, Rex Galbreth, and Mark Galbreth; nine grandchildren, Lee Owens and wife, Shawna, Lisa Arendt and husband, Paul, Bo, Broc and Baxter Galbreth, Taylor and Erin Galbreth; aunt, Mary Ann Wright; nephew, Dr. Jarrett Galbreth and wife, Ruth; and numerous great nieces and nephews. "Bill" Galbreth, along with his family, owned and operated one of the first furniture stores in downtown Albuquerque, Galbreth Furniture. He was also a dedicated employee of Hales Janitorial Supply. Bill was a longtime antique car collector, restorer, and a member of the Veteran Car Club, Albuquerque Branch. He was a member of Heights Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He loved camping, boating, and fishing with his family. He was a devoted family man, a wonderful father and a loving grandfather. His friends and family will dearly miss his outgoing, friendly manner and his wonderful sense of humor. He was a compassionate, kind man who always greeted everyone with hugs and kisses. Services will be held at Heights Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 8600 Academy NE, on Friday, April 25, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Alzheimer's Association, 9500 Montgomery NE, Suite 209, 87111, or the charity of one's choice.
