Obituary for ETHRIDGE

Mack Edward Ethridge passed away at the age of 63 on Monday April 7, 2008, in Phoenix, AZ. He is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl; daughter, Karey and her husband, Chuck Mitchell; and son, James and his wife, Alisa Ethridge; as well as granddaughters Kelsey, Kylie, Ava, and Diana, all of Albuquerque, NM. Also, brothers, Joe, Lonnie, and Raymond Ethridge; and sister, Betty Frazier, all of whom live in Texas. He was born on October 27, 1944, in Ft. Worth, Texas and was raised in Weatherford, TX. Mack was a graduate of The University of North Texas where he met Cheryl Rulaine Kiourkas, his wife of 40 years. After a career as an Account Manager for General Mills in El Paso, TX, he started Ethridge Tire Center, which has been located in Albuquerque, NM for the last 28 years. Mack was a recognized member of the community in which he lived, a member of Faith Lutheran Church, and the Executives Association of Greater Albuquerque. He will be remembered as an unassuming man who believed in people, who charted his own path in life, and lived it on his terms until the very end. He will also be remembered as a caring man who helped countless family, friends, customers, and employees in their times of need. We will miss him dearly. A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday April 17, 2008, at Faith Lutheran Church, 10,000 Spain Road NE, Albuquerque, NM 87111 505-296-0762. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations in Mack's name to The American Cancer Society; PO Box 22718 Oklahoma City, OK 73123 God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be, So He put his arms around you and He whispered, "Come with Me." With tearful eyes we watched you suffer and saw you fade away, Although we loved you dearly we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating and you're now at peaceful rest, God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best.
