Evelyn A. Edwards, age 92, passed away peacefully at her home, on March 26, 2008. Evelyn was born on June 29, 1915, in New York, NY, to Otto and Jennie Wolterding. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Randolph; husband, William H. Jr.; sons, William H. III and John. In 1961, Evelyn and her husband , Bill, began their life in New Mexico, as Bill accepted a position with Sandia National Labs. Evelyn often stated that New Mexico was the best place she had ever lived, and that was 47 years. After coming to Albuquerque, Evelyn became a faithful communicant at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, and was an active member of the Altar Guild and St. Elizabeth's Guild. In 1989, St. Matthew's merged with St. Aiden's, and became St. Mary's Episcopal Church, where Evelyn remained a parishioner until her death. Evelyn was a dynamic individual who loved her family, faith, friends, and the New York Yankees!! Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Jeanne M. Howard, of Albuquerque, NM; granddaughter, Stefani Jaramillo and husband, Rob; great-granddaughter, Madeline; and great-grandson, Michael, all of Las Vegas, NV; granddaughters, Carolyn VanSickle and husband, Jim, and Jennifer Thies and husband, Tim, all of Phoenix, AZ; sister, Adele of Bergenfield, NJ; numerous nieces and nephews; and first- cousin, Muriel Heyer of Humble, TX. Cremation has taken place, and a Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2008, at 2:00 p.m., at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, 1500 Chelwood Pk. Blvd NE, with Father Jim Hunter as Celebrant. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Evelyn's memory.
