Eugene Stanley Harris, 99, of Albuquerque, NM passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday, March 29, 2008. Mr. Harris was born in Kansas City, Kansas on Oct. 30, 1908, to Charles and Mae Harris and grew up in Raton, NM before moving to Albuquerque in about 1932. Mr. Harris was a consultant and technical writer for the US armed forces and later became a freelance technical writer for various mechanical magazines. Mr. Harris served as one of the first volunteer members in the New Mexico Rangers from 1951 through 1982, when he retired. Mr. Harris is Survived by his granddaughter, Deborah Lynne Harris Croley and her husband, Gary, of Los Lunas, NM; his grandson, Tom E. Harris, of Albuquerque, NM; his granddaughter, Allethea S. T. Harris, of Elizabeth, Colorado; Jeff Cerame of Elizabeth, Colorado; Patricia McArdle of Houston, Texas; his great-granddaughters, Vivian Violet Slack and her husband, Jim, of The Colony, Texas; Barbara Ann Kellum and her husband, Eric, of Atascocita, Texas; and Tyrayl Deborah Harris of Elizabeth, Colorado; his great-great grandchildren, Austin Soukhakian, Faith Kellum and Riley Soukhakian of Atascocita, Texas, and McKenna Slack of The Colony, Texas; his nephew, Marty Hall, his wife, Bonnie, and their son, Marty Jr. of Albuquerque, NM; his niece, Bydee Vance, of Las Vegas, Nevada; his niece, Terry Lunsford, her husband, Chris, and their daughter, Calynn of Los Lunas, NM; the Unsworth family; and numerous other family members and friends. Long time good friends include; Ellis Niel of Albuquerque, NM, Elizabeth Marchetti of Albuquerque, NM, Violet Thorbus of Farmington, NM, Harry and Pat Raymond of Albuquerque, NM Jim Baxter of Albuquerque, NM, and Bill and Sue Sauter of Santa Fe, NM. Mr. Harris was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mae Harris; his sons, Stanley T. and Tom E. Harris; his wife, Vivian T. Harris; his sisters, Bernice and Ruth; his niece, Marlene; and his daughter-in-law, Barbara A. Harris. Family and friends will be provided with the arrangements for a Memorial to Mr. Harris.
