Robert Renshaw Ellis, 40, died peacefully in his sleep in the early hours of Thursday morning, March 27, 2008. A lifelong resident of Albuquerque, Robert attended Sandia High School and graduated from the University of New Mexico in 1991. Kind and gentle by nature, Robert endured the ravages of myotonic muscular dystrophy without complaint. He was the only son of Jim Ellis, and the late Mary Van Atta Ellis. His survivors include his sisters, Mary Clark and her husband, Jim of Nashville, and Jane Ellis; his father, Jim Ellis; and a very large cat named Merlin. Robert was very proud of his deep roots in Albuquerque which included the early-day Sisk and Van Atta families. If angels have a sense of humor, they will surely enjoy Robert's company.
