Albino Joseph Martinez, Sr., 91, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 23, 2007. There he will be reunited with Sophie, his wife of 63 years. A long-time resident of Albuquerque, Albino was born in San Jon, New Mexico. He is survived by his second wife, Hilda; his son, Albino Martinez,Jr.; his daughter and son-in-law, Gloria and Ronald Johnston; brother, Alfonso Martinez; sister, Lila Mares; three grandchildren, Todd Johnston, Amy and husband, Gabriel Nims, and Sean Johnston; great-grandson, Mason Nims; and many other loving family members and friends. Albino served in the Army in World War II, retired from the Federal Government, and was an avid golfer. He is deeply loved and will be greatly missed. A Rosary, led by his nephew, Deacon Manuel Garcia, will be held at Daniels Family Funeral Services, Carlisle Chapel, on Wednesday, March 26, 2008, at 7:00 p.m., with a Viewing beginning at 5:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 27, 2008, at 12:00 noon, at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to Vista Care Hospice, 5639 Jefferson NE.
