Charles Kern Connolly, 82, longtime resident of Albuquerque, passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2008. He was born March 5, 1925 to Charles and Margaret Connolly of Mendato Heights, Minnesota. Charles is survived by his wife, Marjorie Baldridge-Connolly; siblings, John Connolly and wife, Joyce; Margaret Burwinkle and husband Joseph; children, Robert Connolly and Maureen Sloan, Wilma P. McCollum; five grandchildren: Leslie and Kelly Sloan, Dylan Connolly, Alicia Webb and husband, Jason, Rachel Singer and husband, Jason and two great-grandchildren; Shelby and Killian Webb. Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Helen, daughter, Mary Margaret and brother, Dan. Charles was employed by Sandia National Laboratories, he owned Sid's Bar on N 4th St and spent his retirement as an Elementary School Crossing Guard for schools in Rio Rancho and Albuquerque. A Rosary will be held at 8 a.m. and Funeral Mass will be held at 9 a.m. St. Bernadette Catholic Church, Tuesday, March 11, 2008 located at 1800 Martha St. NE, internment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery & Mausoleum located at 7500 Paseo Del Norte NE, beginning at 10:30 a.m. A potluck reception following services at the American Legion Post 49 located at 11007 Central Ave NE, from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
