Obituary for HEIER-HILL

DeLila Mae Heier-Hill, age 64, passed from this life Friday, February 22, 2008 at the University of New Mexico Hospital, Albuquerque, NM. She and her twin sister, Darlene Fae, were born on February 19, 1944, on their parents farm during a snow storm in Harding County, SD. DeLila attended Norbeck School in Harding County through the 8th grade and graduated with honors from Hettinger High School, Hettinger, ND in 1960. She later received her bachelor's degree from University of Minnesota. DeLila retired from American Airlines in 2006 after more than 36 years of service. While with American, she traveled worldwide including Japan, Russia, Hawaii, Norway, England, Germany, France and Spain, sharing many of these trips with her daughter, Cherish. Many times, she would share gifts from her excursions with her family and friends. She spent many hours on the beaches of Hawaii and Southern California. Her greatest love was for her husband, daughter, and grandchildren. She was always on the go and enjoyed a vibrant life. DeLila is survived by Ron Hill, her beloved husband of 40 years; daughter, Cherish Muzik and her husband, Nathaniel; grandchildren, Xavier (12), Cedric (10), and Symphony (5), of Albuquerque; step-son, Genghis Hill; and son, Daniel, of Moreno Valley, CA; sisters, Dawn Kaitfors and husband, Francis, of Albuquerque, Rosella Beaumont of Rapid City, SD; brother, Iver Heier and wife, Beverly, of Prairie City, SD; aunt, Gladys Heier; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; twin sister; and infant brother and sister. A Celebration of DeLila's life will be held Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at French Mortuary Westside Chapel.
